Oasis was tapped in March of 2007 by Arnold to assist them with the redevelopment of NCR’s global website. The team was tasked with creating a new website that would incorporate dynamic functionality within their existing content management services infrastructure, delivering a more efficient infrastructure, enhanced user experience and improved global navigation, as well as achieving site performance gain through structured back-end code development.

Prior to making final recommendations, Oasis spent a considerable amount of time assessing NCR’s current content management workflow process and their existing site. Upon completing our assessment, we provided our recommendations to NCR and then worked in concert with their team to produce a product specification that both teams agreed upon.

The final solution fulfilled NCR’s needs on multiple fronts. First, the front-end application provided a new information architecture, clean design and flexible infrastructure based on common Java technologies. Second, the application shielded their original content management process from the changes made on the front-end of the site. Content updates and changes were made in conjunction with the development of the application, proving that it would not interfere with the existing workflow. Finally, the application infrastructure and design proved to perform exceptionally well.

Based on client feedback, all of NCR’s initial goals were not only met, but exceeded. In the end, the NCR project was seen as a smashing success from all ends.
