Standard and Poor's

Standard & Poor's (S&P) partnered with Oasis to assist them with the information architecture and design for the newly re-launched www.standardandpoors.com. S&P ratings and indices are internationally known, however both their internal stakeholders and ratings subscribers were finding that S&P mainstays, like the S&P 500 which is a household name, was difficult to find on the site due to confusing UI and outdated designs.

Oasis was engaged to help the S&P stakeholder teams that focused on their specific business units such as Ratings, Indices and S&P Products to refine the Homepage experience and streamline the presentation and layout of all interior pages. Oasis worked with S&P to organize 30 plus stakeholder business requirement sessions in which essential content for each section of the site was identified, ranked and mapped to the site, both at the navigation and page level. After this information was mined, Oasis developed comprehensive annotated wireframe and sitemaps that reorganized the site’s content to address both internal and external audiences. In preparation for the site re-design, Oasis had created over 200 wire framed pages and variation to map out the page requirements for every section and sub-section of www.standardandpoors.com.

After the IA phase was complete, Oasis then worked with S&P to produce on brand site designs that adhered to their established brand guidelines. In the end Oasis produced a site design that was not only adhered to the existing brand guidelines, but also extended the brand to address complaints about its previous incarnation.

Following the IA and design phases for S&P, Oasis set forth to create over 300 functioning html pages which would be incorporated into the existing content management system employed by S&P. Oasis was able to deliver all S&P deliverables for the IA, design and development phase both on time and on-budget, helping S&P meet their aggressive timeline which saw the site re-launched in early September 2009.
