Titleist Golf Ball Fitting
IA, Design, Integrated Analytics, Development
As the industry leader, Titleist is constantly looking for new and innovative ways to connect with their brand loyalists in the interactive space. As part of their golf ball marketing initiatives, Titleist tapped Oasis to create an interactive application to educate consumers around the importance of proper golf ball fitting while supporting comprehensive offline campaigns.
At the heart of this engagement the Oasis team was tasked with bringing a two-dimensional decision tree to life. Knowing the importance of quickly capturing the user’s attention with an engaging interface, the Oasis creative team began concepting and emerged with a rich experience complete with intricate 3-D animation to guide users through the selection process.
On the technical side, it was essential that the final application was both portable and scalable. To meet these requirements Oasis first created a desktop version utilizing the Adobe AIR platform and then leveraged this framework to efficiently port the application to the web environment. This approach streamlined the build process and resulted in a flexible architecture that allowed for the rapid deployment of future enhancements.
The desktop application was first launched at the golf industry’s largest trade event, The PGA Merchandise Show, and was met with great response. Since the show, the application has been distributed to channel partners and also launched on the web. The success of the web version has prompted the localization of the application and it will be available in more than eight languages.
