One small step for Oasis, one giant leap for Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

June 27, 2013

“Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed.” Or in this case, launched. Oasis is proud to announce the launch of the newly redesigned Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. NASA’s John F. Kennedy Space Center helped set the stage for America’s adventure to space and continues to be America’s most famous working spaceport. The Visitor Complex houses many of the actual artifacts that tell the history of space exploration, from reconstructed Saturn V rockets to the new Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit. The Visitor Complex tells the story of the past, present, and future of space exploration, with rocket launches still ongoing from the Kennedy Space Center. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is managed by Delaware North Companies Parks and Resorts division, a leader in hospitality management service with over 50,000 employees worldwide.

Agency Oasis redesigned the KSCVC site to better reflect the role KSCVC/NASA has as a home of innovation and the cutting edge use of technology in space exploration while being respectful of the history and sacrifices of the past that enables future space exploration. By marrying the emotive visual design with Oasis’ extensive experience as Sitecore development partner, Oasis was able to further empower the KSCVC team to better reach and message their core audiences through use of Sitecore’s personalization engine. Additionally, by building a best practices Sitecore CMS site, the KSCVC marketing team can ensure that the site evolves right alongside the exciting advances in our understanding of the universe around us and to continue to tell the story of the human exploration of space.

“Kennedy Space Center is where mankind first stepped off the planet to begin our exploration of the Universe. We needed a way to tell the 50+ year history of NASA and the Kennedy Space Center that told the history while telling our visitors what a great learning experience they will have when they visit us. The unique design Oasis provided delivered on a very tough challenge at every level.” – John Clifford, Sr. Director of Sales and Marketing, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
