Elma Electronics delivers a consistent, personalized online experience with content management and simplified workflow

Elma Electronics, a global manufacturing company with multiple business units and varied business requirements needed a website that delivered an easier workflow process while maintaining content consistency across multiple content contributors. In addition, it wanted a highly personalized web experience that aligned with their high quality customer service

Challenge

Elma had tremendous challenges managing its web content across all of its business units located in Europe, Asia, and North America. The site’s workflow process was cumbersome and made it difficult for multiple content contributors to use effectively. In addition, the website’s user experience and content consistency did not accurately reflect the company’s off-line customer experience and corporate brand image

Strategy

Agency Oasis held a two-day discovery process to identify and define audience personas and assign specific content and task goals. The team defined personality attributes through collaborative visual and naming exercises, resulting in a concise customer profile and insight to Elma’s unique and differentiating values.

Agency Oasis Creative Team then created visual concepts to reflect the brand story, matching corporate brand standards, while exploring possible differences in visuals and messaging. Every element was strategically justified against the business and brand input data, minimizing the distraction and risk of subjectivity.

Results

Following launch, the new website statistics showed significantly improved traffic and online ordering increased. User comments were strongly positive, with “usability” and “clarity” being key terms reported. Overall, the site now accurately reflects the company’s goal of aligning the online customer experience tightly with the offline experience.
